Message from the president
Dear friends, welcome and thank you for taking time to visit our website. As part of our commitment to keeping our work easily accessible, we have created a more navigable website with additional resources, better tools, and a new visual design.
At the Muslim Center for Justice and Law (MCJL), our programs are designed to promote its core belief that the pursuit of justice is one of the central foundations for the development of human dignity.
To this end, we strive to make justice accessible to the indigent or those in our communities who have the least access to legal resources. Through our legal team, we undertake pro bono representation in courts of law on their behalf in areas as diverse as land disputes, spousal abuse matters and girl child abuse cases like child marriages.
Our services do not stop with the resolution of individual cases. Through local and nationwide mobilisation, trainings/education, and advocacy, we also address the root causes of the injustice and exploitation with the aim of creating a community in which there is commitment to the pursuit of law and the advancement of justice for all members of society.
Currently, we have a strong presence in the districts of Kampala, Butambala, Wakiso and Mayuge.
We continue to be inspired by the support we receive and partnership we have with our funders, government, the media and like-minded civil society organisations since our inception.
Reflecting our long-standing commitment to learning and continuous improvement, we welcome your feedback.
Mr. Jaffer Senganda
