NANDIMUKAGA AND YIGA RECOVER THEIR PROPERTY

 

Situation:

Birungi Emma bought land on 29th March 2008 in which Nandimukaga and Yiga Ramadhan had kibanja interest on  and refused to compensate them. Nandimukaga is a widow with 2 orphaned grand children. The only property she had was that kibanja where she constructed a one roomed house. Both Nandimukaga and Yiga Ramadhan came to MCJL after being sued by the land owner that they had trespassed on his land.

Solution:

Results:

Through court mediation Nandimukaga was given an alternative plot of land on 19th July 2016 in the same area which was equivalent to hers. Below is our clients; on 5th August 2016 Ramadhan yiga was compensated with 7 million Ugandan shillings.

NAKASITA MARGRET SECURES MAINTAINANCE FOR HER CHILDREN

 

Situation:

Margret a single mother of two children lives in kyebando within a relative’s home. Her problem was; that after separation with the husband, Mr kigongo sam, she was abandoned with her children. The husband neither provided them with daily needs nor pay school fees for the children. Margret made an application for child maintenance in Makindye court in 2013, Court gave her an order that the father of her children pays school fees for them but he had refused to do so. Her children have been out of school for 5 years.

Solution:

Nakasita Margret approached MCJL for the court order to be enforced, we applied to court for the notice to show cause by the father of her children who should be arrested for disobeying the order. The order was served upon him and he never came to court, subsequently we applied for a warrant of arrest. He was arrested at Kabalagala police station and put in Luzira prison. He was produced in court and his son who is an elder step brother (Kirunda) to the children in this case offered to pay the school fees arrears and continue the paying of school fees till they finish school.

Results:

Nakasita Margret and her children are happy and the children are back in school.
