This component aims at contributing to the elimination of new HIV infections and reducing unintended pregnancies among Muslim girls in school and women of reproductive age (15 to 49 years).

The project covers districts of Kampala and Wakiso in Uganda The project was designed and progressively implemented to prevent unintended pregnancies and to enhance Community advocacy for gender equity in education and health including but not limited to, for positive mothers and their affected families. Under this component, MCJL has and continues to;

 

  • Advocate for improved access to affordable and high-quality reproductive health for the Muslim community.
  • Promote the uptake of contraceptives and reduce unintended pregnancies and related effects among the Muslim communities.
  • Build alliances with various Muslim sects for reduction of unintended pregnancies among Muslim girls and women of reproductive age in schools.
